Thanks to a critique from my photo board, I should have increased the shutter speed to sharpen her eyes. But overall I am happy with it.

Old Photo, New Edit

Elle is about 4 months old here. In the original shot, taken with my old camera, I had horrible lighting. I have since learned how to fix horrible lighting. :)

Now, I really did not like this picture! (sorry if that is mean...). But the baby's face looked like a scruched up old man (mean again...sorry!). So I cut the wee babe completely out of the shot so my eye was drawn to the foot, not the face.

I could not fix the blowout on the white blanket and the cuties look a bit pink, but I am happy overall.

First Shot with D90

On auto mode because I had just got home from work and hubs had it all charged for me. Now the mission is to get off auto mode.

A weekly editing challenge: I used picnik.com. Adjusted exposure, temp, levels and curves. I brightened eyes and lips. I darkened background and shirt.

More Success with B&W

After some tips from the gals on my photo board, I was able to use the "advanced" tools in picnik.

First B&W Conversion

I am not too proud of this because of my limited editiing skills. I was not able to remove the blowout on her head. But I am proud of her eyes because of all the tiny little catchlights.
